Can the church be relevant? That's the question we are asking our community, we believe that it can. And we are here to prove it!

What is the TLC HELP Link?

It is an opportunity to serve our Church family and the Community.  There are many in need within our own congregation.  Most of us also have a friend or neighbour who may need some loving support.  The HELP Link hopes to lessen the burdens of others by providing assistance when needed.  Through our network of families, we can all offer something in loving kindness.  The HELP Link will match up volunteers willing to help with those who need it.

In Romans 12:20 we are commanded….. “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.”

If this is what we are commanded to do for our enemies, how should we be expected to treat our own brothers and sisters in Christ?

How much time do I have to give to be involved in the HELP Link?

This will be very individual according to what God calls you to do.  It may be making a meal for someone on occasion, helping a senior once a month or helping someone with transportation.   As you pray about it, the Lord will lead you so you will not take on more than you can handle.

Acts 4:32 says “All the believers were one in heart and mind.” And in verse 34 it says “There were no needy persons among them.”

Doesn’t that sound ideal?  Well the HELP Link won’t save the world, but it can make a difference in our community and so can you.  As written in Acts 4, we won’t ask you to sell your property and possessions to divide up fairly amongst us all.  We will start much smaller and ask that you give some of your time, talents or energy to make a big difference in someone else’s life.

1 John 4:21 teaches:  “And he has given us this command:  Whoever loves God must also love his brother.”
