Values of The LIFE Centre | Philosophy of The LIFE Centre
We believe that the church is the living, breathing ambassador of a REAL God. It is important for us to carefully express and live the heartbeat of a God who loves everyone. Our desire is to be a church that intentionally Lives In Fulness Everyday, the way God intended life to be lived. Christians should be the most dynamic, free and joyful people on the face of the earth. We have been challenged to seize the vibrancy of life, and live in freedom and joy.
Servant Leadership
We want to be a church that models, teaches, and lives servant leadership. By this we mean that we want to honour and prefer others. Life isn't about how much we can get; it's about how much we can give. We are a church of servants, and many people in our church gladly volunteer at two and three jobs, knowing that it keeps them fresh and alive in Christ. They see the value in serving others.
You see our lives are a lot like a body of water. Imagine a body of water that has an inlet, but no outlet. We would call it a swamp. It's stagnant because it's not giving. In the opposite way, a body of water that has both an inlet and an outlet is alive and fresh and life-giving. We must learn to give if we desire to be healthy and alive. If all we do at church is receive, then we become spiritually fat and arrogant. Understanding and living a "servant leadership" mentality frees us from arrogance and pride and allows us to be a blessing to others.
Church Planting
We believe in church planting. Having just started The LIFE Centre in Easter of 2004, we recognize the value of new churches in a community. Therefore, we want to be a "church planting church plant". Currently we are involved in financially supporting another church plant in Brantford, we support another church planter in Mongolia, and we give to a "children's" church in Haiti. We also have plans to "mother" a church of our own, supporting it both financially and with an infusion of people. This will keep us focused on bringing the message of Jesus Christ to this generation. It will keep us fresh as we "birth" a new work, helping it grow and mature.
EVANGELISM
Our focus and mandate is to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to anyone at all costs. We want to make sure that the Jesus this world sees in us is a true reflection of who He really is, and that they know He He has answers for the questions that come from day-to-day life.
We will constantly re-evaluate every program and every tradition and see if it is helping us fulfill what we believe God has destined us to do. There will be no sacred, "untouchable" areas in our church. We must analyze and strategize everything we do so that we are as effective as possible.
